Today is my 4th mammogram/ultrasound in two years. While it is not that bad physically, it is the stress that comes with the unknown that makes it unpleasant.
However women's health, and all preventive care, it important. And it is important to note that Obamacare, like it or lump it, has made that preventive care affordable for so many more Americans.
If you have not gotten a mammogram, let me tell you about it. Starts with paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. No surprise. Then you take off your clothes above the waist. Then the tech takes a bunch of breast photos. The doctor reviews and you will either be free to go or they will want to do an ultrasound. During the ultrasound, you recline, a lot of gel is spread on you, and they take additional photos with measurements of the little items they see in there. After that, the doctor declares you fine or schedules a biopsy.
The biopsy is terrible and leaves a deep, dark, hard bruise. No sugar coating it.
This year no biopsy! Indeed, I have been given a clean bill of health!
